The Autistan diplomatic organization offers,
each year from 2019,
The concept of “Autistan Day“.
It's a concept :
- Which responds to the initiative of the World Autism Awareness Day offered by the UN (whose general principle we support) And who uses the same date (around 2 avril) ;
- Who is “autistic” : Organized by autistic, So while respecting autism (Autistan's diplomatic organization is a specialist in autism, Which is not the case with the UN) ;
- Global (since our vision of autism is global, extra-nationale).
Autistic groups and organizations, Parents of autistic, or others, which organize events to defend autistic people and autism around 2 avril, can decide to organize their event in harmony with Autistan Day.
- To participate, You can organize your event as you wish but here is 7 Conditions (C1 to C7) to be respected :
C1- (Obviously) Do public awareness actions to autism, in public space (physique, or virtual on the internet).
C2- Use the Autistan flag (or elements of the flag: in this case, Consult us to check if it's appropriate).
C3- Use the title “Autistan Day” (which does not prevent the use of other titles, Association names, etc.) with a link to this page (https://autistan.org/fr/journee-de-l-autistan/) in your communication (anterior, during the day, and posterior).
C4- Check that messages, Presentations and publications of the event respect the fundamental rights of autistic According to the Autistan diplomatic organization (https://autistan.org/fr/droits/).
C5- Check that messages, Presentations and publications of the event are compatible with our vision of autism (https://autistan.org/fr/9-nos-explications-sur-autisme/), especially by never using an approach “defectological” autism.
– Examples of incompatible messages :
— “Autism is a disease” : non, It is a natural biological difference (like being left -handed, Dwarf or albinos).
— “Autism is a disorder (or a set of troubles)” : non, Autism is autism, and the difficulties linked to autism, It’s not autism ;
— “Fight against autism” : non, more, on the contrary, corner pour Autism… (For understanding, respect, use and compliance with the particularities and autistic qualities) ;
— “Get out of autism” : non, but rather overcome the difficulties (especially those imposed by the social environment), respecting the autistic nature of the person ;

C7- Do not use “ribbon” (As for the HIV) in the communication of the event.

- In addition to these 7 Conditions, here is 4 Recommendations (R1 to r4) try to follow as much as possible :
R1- Si possible, invite an Autistan ambassador or another member (or sponsor, or bear) of our organization.
R2- Si possible, Try to harmonize the local event with other events organized by other associations or groups as part of the concept “Autistan Day”.
R3- Si possible, do not use “puzzle” in the communication of the event.
